Metallurgy makes three demands at once: mass concentrated on a small footprint, sensitivity to weather, and repeating circuits between the mill, the processor and the end user. The body is chosen for weight distribution rather than volume. Coils, sheet and sections need different lashing from palletised cargo, and once lengths grow, dimensions and permits come into it. Some material reaches us before it reaches the customer: cutting to size and batch preparation let a plant take delivery of finished pieces instead of arranging the work itself.
